Cremones are surface-mount security bolts which are used to securely lock windows or doors.  Similar in function to contemporary multi-point locks, these slide bolts lock both the top and bottom of a door/window into place by easily turning the handle.  Cremones are easily installed directly onto the surface and can certainly add more character to a door, window or even larger armoires or cabinets. Rod lengths can be shortened when installing to adjust for differing door heights.
